OUATIS

Privacy Policy

Who we are

This website (ouatis.art and ouatis.vercel.app) is OUATIS, a project presented by PleasrDAO about the Wu-Tang Clan album Once Upon a Time in Shaolin. In this policy, “we” and “us” mean the OUATIS team. If you have any question about your information, write to privacy@ouatis.art.

What we collect

  • Your email address, as soon as you type it into the Chamber form and press Continue, even if you do not finish creating an account.
  • Your name and a password if you create an account. We never store your password itself, only a one-way scrambled version of it.
  • Your mobile number, only if you give it and tick the box agreeing to receive texts. We also record when you agreed.
  • Your Google account details if you choose Continue with Google: your name, email address, profile photo and Google account ID. We do not get your Google password, contacts, files or anything else.
  • Technical details of your sign-in: your IP address and browser type, kept with your sign-in session for security.
  • Anonymous visit counts. We use Vercel Web Analytics, which counts page views without cookies and without identifying you.

How we use it

  • To create your account, sign you in and keep it secure.
  • To send you updates about the release and clues about the drop, by email, and by text if you agreed to texts.
  • To protect the site and our members from abuse and fraud.

Information from Google is used only to create your account and sign you in. We do not use it for advertising and we do not share it with anyone except as described below.

Who we share it with

We do not sell or rent your information. We share it only with the services that run the site for us, and only so they can do that job:

  • Vercel, which hosts the website.
  • Neon, which hosts our database.
  • Google, if you choose to sign in with Google.
  • The email and text-message providers we use to send you updates.

We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or to a successor if the OUATIS project is transferred, in which case this policy will continue to apply to your information.

Text messages

If you give your mobile number and agree, we will send you text messages about the release. How often varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to stop receiving texts at any time, or HELP for help. Agreeing to texts is never a condition of anything. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.

Cookies

We use one cookie, to keep you signed in to your account. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.

How long we keep it

We keep your account information for as long as your account exists. If you ask us to delete your account or your email address, we delete it, except where the law requires us to keep a record.

Your choices

  • Unsubscribe from email at any time using the link in any email we send.
  • Stop texts at any time by replying STOP.
  • Ask us for a copy of your information, to correct it, or to delete it, by writing to privacy@ouatis.art. We will reply within 30 days.

Depending on where you live, you may have further rights under laws such as the GDPR or the California Consumer Privacy Act. Write to us and we will honour them.

Security

Your information is sent over encrypted connections and stored with providers that encrypt it at rest. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect it.

Where your information is stored

Our providers store information in the United States. If you sign up from elsewhere, your information will be transferred there.

Children

This site is not intended for anyone under 16, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

Changes

If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page, and tell members by email if the change is significant.
